Hailed from the City of Smiles, Bacolod, the four Go siblings moved with their parents to Manila in the year of 1991 to pursue their dreams.
Years later, the Coronavirus outbreak hit the world and changed the way things are even up to this date. During the height of the pandemic, restaurant operations were limited, food deliveries were suspended, and more. Back then, the siblings often talked about how they miss the food from their hometown. Since the options for authentic Ilonggo food services in Manila was slim to none, this brewed the idea on the minds of the brothers and sisters to start a restaurant of their own.
Backed up by their years of knowledge and experience in handling a business, as well as their passion for food and cooking, the family decided to put up Kanamit - meaning "Masarap" in Tagalog. With recipes made by their sister-in-law, the restaurant opened last December 2021 in Carriedo, henceforth bringing the taste of their Bacolod home to people in Metro Manila.
